Hands English Program
Volunteer opportunities exist for English language teachers to support the work of Hands Across The Water, in the Hands English Program.
The Program is delivered through a prescribed curriculum and learning materials are provided. A program coordinator maintains contact throughout the placement via online meetings, and face-to-face when possible.
As consistency and predictability are important for effective learning when delivering education to children, teaching terms for 2018 are for a minimum of 9 months beginning with a group training late January in Thailand. Qualified pre-school, primary or secondary teachers are required and ESL/EFL experience &/or qualifications are preferred.
Volunteers are required to obtain the ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) and Police checks relevant to their State or Territory, as well as agree to and comply with the Hands Child Protection Policy.
