About the ride

Hands have partnered with Electrolux to stage New Zealand’s first organised fundraising ride along the Tour Aotearoa route from Cape Reinga to Bluff. This ride will be completed in stages across several years and is open all levels of cyclists. All our rides are “inclusive” which means we welcome both beginner and advanced riders, with the aim not finish first, but finish together.

The first leg of the country-length ride starts in Cape Reinga and travels down the west coast, including 90 Mile Beach and visiting the incredible Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest before finishing up along the award-winning pink “Lightpath” in Auckland.

Overview

500km in 5 Days: Each day is broken down into shorter approximately 25km sections with a rest and drinks break between each one. This makes the distance very much achievable and we wait at each stop for all riders to arrive so there’s no need worry about being left behind.
null
Stunning Scenery: Journey along 90 Mile Beach, through the beautiful Waipoua Forest and see some truly dramatic landscapes along the Kauri Coast Cycleway. This route really is a dream come true for cyclists.
null
Fundraise $4,000: Raise AU$4,000 to qualify for the ride, with funds raised going towards supporting the children Hands cares for in Thailand. We will support you with your fundraising every step of the way with access to our dedicated events and marketing team.
null
Personal Achievement: Whether you just complete this stage or set yourself the challenge of riding the full length of New Zealand, this experience will motivate you to get fit, allow you to meet like-minded people, and you’ll feel a sense of amazing accomplishment as you ride into Auckland at the end of this stunning trip.
